The US Housing market is already starting to be significantly impacted by climate risk currently this is largely mitigated on a state by state level. In California and Florida this has taken the form of the state subsidizing insurance as all private insurers progressively pull out of these markets. With increased climate risk, the long term nature of real estate investing (~30 yr mortgage) will come to be dominated by factors directly related to climate change.
