“It will come to light that the United States Federal Government has control of a significant portion of Bitcoin. They will leverage this Bitcoin holding to erase their National debt.”

I see only two ways for the United States to repay their National Debt. They either print the amount of money they owe, or they change the entire paradigm of money. The former option results in hyperinflation. The latter allows for a secret operation to escape the inevitable financial implosion of the U.S. Federal Government. Declaring Bitcoin the new reserve currency should allow for proper execution of option two.
