“E-Verify will not be implemented nationwide for all employers in the United States.”

There has been a lot of talk and campaign promises of mandating E-Verify for all employers in the United States as a way to combat illegal immigration. This would be a great way to force reform. The employers profiting from illegal labor would find themselves aligned with those supporting immigration reform. I predict that there will be no such implementation. Democrats and Republicans cannot stand up to the businesses that donate to their campaigns. They will continue to distract voters with other issues rather than address the fundamental economic incentives.
