Using my mechanical model I have assessed 80 companies graduating from TechStars and 500 Startups & have put the startups into either a succeed, fail, or no prediction category. At the end of the Bet period, the companies predicted to succeed will have, on average, increased their number of employees, unique web visitors, revenue, valuation, and profits compared to the beginning of the Bet period. If revenues, profits, and valuations are unavailable then employees as listed on LinkedIn and unique visitors as reported by Compete.com (or an equivalent service) will suffice as a success metric. Companies predicted to fail will have increased by an amount less than the companies predicted to succeed in these measures. Companies for which the model doesn't offer a strong Prediction either way are included only for reference.
