A number of things will combine over time to drive down energy-related CO2 in the US: 1) economic weakness 2) tightening supply of fossil fuels 3) rising availability of cost-effective, lower carbon energy sources, and 4) carbon-limiting legislation. Energy-related CO2 emissions are reported annualy by the Energy Information Administration of the US DOE.
