“Hurricanes in Florida will be less in 2005-2015, than the average of the preceding three decades”

When we bought a holiday home in Florida in 2000 we were warned that the number of hurricanes would be greater in the following decade than the preceding decade. The prediction was based on statistics that hurricanes in the preceding decade had been lower than average and with gobal warming hurricanes were bound to be greater. That prediction has proved wrong so far.
