I subscribe to the theory put forth by Ray Kurzweil in his "Law of Accelerating Returns" and believe that one consequence will be a concomitant acceleration of innovation across all or most fronts of human endeavor, as accelerating technological progress creates a dynamic and positive feedback loop.
