“Science believes consciousness descends from matter; religion believes matter descends from consciousness. Both propositions will be discovered to false within 50 years.”

Relationships between matter (and its attendant fields) and consciousness (experience of self and world) are vital to our understanding of place and cosmos.

Today we see at the macro level that when we disrupt brain tissue, there is a resulting change in consciousness; we also see when we make conscious efforts, brain tissue reorganizes itself(plasticity).

Similarly, when we disturb a radio antenna, our experience of the broadcast is disrupted; when we improve the receiver and antennae, the signal is boosted and filtered and the program becomes clearer. In both cases the transmitter's EM signature is constant.

When we walk through the park, every nearby wireless call, satellite transmission, etc. impacts our physical bodies, but we have no conscious biological receiver and are therefore unaware.

Decoupling apparently causal relationships like matter-mind will require we include ourselves in a new way. Then, the convergence of "science" and "religion" will spawn a single, orthogonal system of understanding.
